Rev. Angie Alexandra

Based in Moray in The Highlands of Scotland, I'm an ordained Interfaith Minister and celebrant; I live as part of the wider community surrounding the Findhorn Foundation, and I also work part time for Findhorn Flower Essences. I travel all over the North of Scotland to hold weddings and vow renewals, in all sorts of interesting and amazing places, as well as holding funerals and baby blessings closer to home.

Over the years, I have found it's helpful to become aware of personal semantics. I've found that how people define their beliefs is important for me to understand how we will acknowledge that in their ceremony. One person might describe a feeling of awe and wonder whilst standing on a beautiful beach at sunset, as 'an inner sense of peace'. The next person might describe that feeling in the same way, but for them, what they feel is what they would call 'God's presence'. So I'm very sensitive to differences in beliefs, and aspire to welcome every conversation in a kind and non judgemental way. It's really important to me to consider everyone I meet as my sister or brother in humanity, and kindness is at the heart of my daily practice.

I love being creative when I have the time. I love being in nature. I love organising, and baking cakes, and sometimes these things all merge in making wedding cakes, or preparing a picnic for a wedding for two. Every ceremony is different, and I love to help people feel at ease about their choices and how they decide to say goodbye to a loved one, or celebrate their love and commitment, or welcome a child into their family.

TESTIMONIALS

"We wanted a ceremony that wasn't religious, but that was very personal.  Angie was a perfect fit for what we were looking for - she was able to tailor our ceremony to our exact needs.  Whilst we had only met Angie over Skype video (so 21st Century!) we felt instantly at ease with her and felt a strong connection throughout the planning process.  Angie was an absolute joy to work with, and we would recommend Angie to anyone looking for someone to help them create a meaningful and memorable marriage ceremony." - Maggie & Hugo

“Everyone who came back after the funeral, without exception, expressed what a lovely funeral ceremony it had been – different to what they had expected and so personal which was a surprise for a lot of people.  We take great comfort in that it was just what F would have wanted, thank you.”

"You are phenomenal at what you do and we are so lucky to have had you marry us. Thank you so much for all of your guidance, help, ideas, organisation and for feeling like part of the family on the day. Words cannot express how fond our memories of our ceremony are and how we will treasure them for the rest of our days. We knew from our first ever Skype with you that you would be all we had hoped for and more, but you and your work completely blew our expectations out of the water." - Hayley Marie Loughran

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful celebration service that you did for E. It was exactly what we wanted and perfectedly suited E. People said how lovely and fitting it was and that it was the 'best' funeral they had ever been to and for this we have to thank you.”

"Many friends and family mentioned afterwards how special and present Angie was in leading our unique 'homegrown' wedding. That says it all to us. If you wish to create a truly special ceremony; however simple or intricate you want it to be, Angie will listen to every word and help create the day, just the way you and your loved ones wish it to be." - James & Sarah

“We’ve been amazed at the kindness and compassion that was given and shown to us by everyone, none more so than yourself. It’s extremely reassuring to know that when the inevitable happens and we pass away there are people like you to guide us through the difficult times.  We greatly appreciated your support and professionalism. Your care in preparing and conducting such a personal ceremony was in our opinion unique and it truly touched us all and provided such a fitting memorial.”

"Right from the start, Angie made us feel relaxed and reassured that the Interfaith Ministry and in particular Angie, was the right choice for us.  The ministry matched our beliefs and Angie's warm and really caring approach gave us confidence that our marriage would be very special and particular to us and it was. Every meeting with Angie made us feel special and unique - she is such a good listener and picks up on the important and sometimes unspoken things." - Fiona & Stuart
