Nicola Coombe

I'm much influenced by being South African and British, and the impact of their cultural, political, spiritual, and natural landscapes. My underlying impulse is to seek connection with that which underpins Life - 'the sacred' by whatever name- between and within us. I have degrees in Social Work, in Psychology and English, and a masters degree (MBA where my thesis explored the inner process of change. In my 20's and early 30's I worked for Life Line in South Africa (Samaritans equivalent); in London as a social worker in child protection; I directed a year-long development programme at the University of Cape Town’s business school (AIM) for five years; was a strategy and leadership consultant at Gemini Consulting; and campaigned for the ordination of women in South Africa. From my mid 30's I worked in strategic development at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland for a few years (where I'm now a trustee and fellow). I was ordained in 2004, and have been a OneSpirit tutor since 2005. I was Seminary Leader from 2008 - 2015, and served as the first Focaliser/ Executive Head of OneSpirit for three years, until November 2017. I've been an executive coach on a leadership programme at IMD in Lausanne for 10 years, and have led and been part of OneSpirit's Supervisor's Group for 12 years. I'm based in London, and live on a barge with my husband and our son.
